I’ve Already Taken an At-Home Pregnancy Test

At-home pregnancy tests are reliable, but it never hurts to get a second opinion. If you got a positive at-home pregnancy test result, you might wonder if you got the correct result.

A recent study at a leading university found that home pregnancy tests are not as accurate as they claim. Taking another test is vital to verify the results.

How Do Pregnancy Tests Work?

When a woman becomes pregnant, her body produces a specific hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). This hormone begins once a fertilized egg attaches to a woman’s uterine wall. If the pregnancy test detects hCG in her urine, she’s pregnant.

Our medical-grade pregnancy testing is the same quality as tests found in some hospitals and physicians’ offices.

Cost-Free Ultrasound Services

An ultrasound can determine if the pregnancy is occurring within your uterus, if it is viable, and then determine how far along you are. If you have scheduled an abortion or considering the abortion pill, an ultrasound should be performed prior to a procedure or taking abortion pills.

If your pregnancy test from Sumter Pregnancy Center is positive and you meet our eligibility requirements, you may receive a free and confidential ultrasound.

Ultrasound scans are used to confirm the presence of a viable uterine pregnancy. We do not perform ultrasounds to determine gender or diagnose abnormalities.
